Add a Disclaimer

This topic covers adding all types of disclaimers including:

  • Item disclaimers - to explain why you did not inspect an item or why the inspection was limited for some reason
  • System disclaimers - for describing what you do or do not inspect within a system.  Also useful for disclaiming all items that are dependent on that system, such as that all plumbing fixtures were inspected visually because the water was turned off
  • Area disclaimers- to indicate all items in a room could not be inspected or was limited due to something about room; such as a locked door or a vast amount of storage
  • Property / General disclaimers - for general statements about the scope of an inspection and for indicating any variance from normal standards of practice due to a property level condition such as a foreclosure

 

Adding Item Disclaimer

     On the web:

  1. Open the property to be inspected.
  2. Select a room 
  3. Within the room, select a system.
  4. Within the system, select an item for which a limitation or disclaimer has been noted.
  5. Click on the hand icon  to the right of the item name
  6. Select the appropriate limitation from the list of disclaimers and choose whether or not you want this disclaimer selected by default
    -OR-
    Enter a new disclaimer in the box and hit the plus button to add it

  7. Note that if adding a new disclaimer, Admin users will see an additional window:

Admin users should indicate if new disclaimer should be saved for open and future inspections or only for the current inspection. Non-admin users will not be offered this choice-their new disclaimers will only be for the current inspection.

   On the Android device:

  1. Choose the property to be inspected.
  2. Select a room 
  3. Within the room, select a system.
  4. Within the system, select an item for which a limitation or disclaimer has been noted.
  5. Click on the Item Disclaimers  pencil
  6. Select the appropriate disclaimer from the list of disclaimers 
    -OR-
    Enter a new disclaimer in the box and hit the plus button to add it:

Note that when adding a new disclaimer, admin users will have the option in the drop down list to indicate if new disclaimer should be saved for open and future inspections or only for the current inspection. Non-admin users will not be offered this choice-their new disclaimers will only be for the current inspection.

Adding System Disclaimers

     On the web:

  1. Open the property to be inspected.
  2. Select a room 
  3. Within the room, select a system for which a disclaimer is going to be entered.
  4. Click on the hand icon  to the right of the system name
  5. Select the appropriate disclaimer from the list of disclaimers and choose whether or not you want this disclaimer selected by default
    -OR-
    Enter a new disclaimer in the box and hit the plus button to add it
  6. Note that when adding a new disclaimer, Admin users will see an additional window similar to the one shown above in the Item Disclaimer section. Admin users can indicate if the new disclaimer should be saved for open and future inspections or only for the current inspection. Non-admin users will not be offered this choice-their new disclaimers will only be for the current inspection.

   On the Android device:

  1. Choose the property to be inspected.
  2. Select a room 
  3. Within the room, select a system for which a disclaimer is going to be entered.
  4. Click on the Edit System Disclaimers underneath the system
  5. Select the appropriate disclaimer from the list of disclaimers
    -OR-
    Enter a new disclaimer at the bottom of the list and hit the plus button to add it
  6. Note that when adding a new disclaimer, admin users will have the option in a drop down list to (similar to picture above in the Item Disclaimer section) to indicate if new disclaimer should be saved for open and future inspections or only for the current inspection. Non-admin users will not be offered this choice-their new disclaimers will only be for the current inspection.

Adding Area Disclaimers

     On the web:

  1. Open the property to be inspected.
  2. Select the room to which a disclaimer is going to be entered
  3. Click on the hand icon  to the right of the room name
  4. Select the appropriate limitation from the list of disclaimers and choose whether or not you want this disclaimer selected by default
    -OR-
    Enter a new disclaimer at the bottom of the list and hit the plus button to add it
  5. Note that when adding a new disclaimer, Admin users will see an additional window similar to the one shown above in the Item Disclaimer section. Admin users can indicate if the new disclaimer should be saved for open and future inspections or only for the current inspection. Non-admin users will not be offered this choice-their new disclaimers will only be for the current inspection.

   On the Android device:

  1. Open the property to be inspected.
  2. Select the room to which a limitation is going to be entered
  3. Click on the pencil under Room Disclaimers 
  4. Select the appropriate limitation from the list of disclaimers
    -OR-
    Enter a new disclaimer in the box and hit the plus button to add it
  5. Note that when adding a new disclaimer, admin users will have the option in a drop down list to (similar to picture above in the Item Disclaimer section) to indicate if new disclaimer should be saved for open and future inspections or only for the current inspection. Non-admin users will not be offered this choice-their new disclaimers will only be for the current inspection.

 

Adding House/Property Disclaimers

    On the web:

  1. Open the property to be inspected.
  2. Click on the hand icon  to the right of the property name
  3. Select the appropriate disclaimer from the list of disclaimers and choose whether or not you want this disclaimer selected by default
    -OR-
    Enter a new disclaimer in the box and hit the plus button
  4. Note that when adding a new disclaimer, Admin users will see an additional window similar to the one shown above in the Item Disclaimer section. Admin users can indicate if the new disclaimer should be saved for open and future inspections or only for the current inspection.
