The app may prompt you to update your Google Play Services.
Google Play Services is an app that comes with Android. The Places API that we use for address suggestions uses this app to communicate with Google for the address data. Apparently, since our first release, Google has added some more capabilities as well as breaking API changes in this area. So what you ran into was a breaking change that required the updated Google Play Services app. Normally this gets updated without user intervention, but somehow on your device (could be the version of Android that the carrier customized on your tablet, etc.), you didn't get the needed update. We added some logic to detect the problem, and act appropriately (displaying the message that you needed to update Play Services in your case).
